Mountain Campus
Mountain Campus for the Sheridan Community
Sheridan’s outdoor education program incorporates the Mountain Campus, a residential facility that promotes learning, cooperation, responsibility, environmental awareness, community spirit, and resourcefulness through experiential education and adventure challenges. Sheridan’s well-trained and professional outdoor instructors provide a safe environment where participants are encouraged to deepen their understanding of each other, themselves, and their natural environment through problem solving, exploration, and communication. All Sheridan students attend the Mountain Campus each spring and fall. Younger students take short trips that include parents. Older students build towards week-long trips and attend without parents.
Mountain Campus for Guest Schools & Groups
Sheridan’s Mountain Campus hosts a variety of schools and groups that benefit from the creative experiences offered through our guest program. Each group’s visit is customized so that the experiential learning activities enrich, deepen, and reinforce specific goals. Working with Sheridan’s well-trained and professional outdoor instructors, group leaders select outdoor adventures, team-building initiatives, ropes course challenges, environmental education classes, and customized curriculum that bring classroom lessons and group expectations to life.
The guest season runs mid-March to mid-June and from late-August to mid-November. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. For more information on guest programs and fees, visit www.mountaincampus.org or contact sheridan@mountaincampus.org.
