Forward Strides:
A Campaign for Sheridan’s Future

Throughout its 83-year history, Sheridan has strived to provide the best  educational environment possible for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students.  The commitment of the administration, faculty and Board of Trustees to the school’s mission has resulted in:

  • A Leading Reputation.  Sheridan has never been more in demand.  In the past five years, applications to attend Sheridan increased 38%, and attrition is marginal.
  • Motivated Faculty.  Our teachers are among the best in their field.  They challenge and inspire their students each day, and are committed to further improving their craft.
  • Inspired Students. When you enter Sheridan’s building, the energy is palpable.  Students are eager to learn; they are excited to tackle any challenge put in front of them.  Our graduates go on to the top high schools and colleges where they succeed because of the love of learning and academic skills instilled at Sheridan.

As we look to the future, it is essential that we maintain these results and keep Sheridan on a sustainable path forward.  To this end, the Board of Trustees recently engaged in a strategic planning process in which supporting and cultivating Sheridan’s faculty and students were identified as vital components for continued success.  Sheridan’s ability to hire, retain, and inspire committed and talented faculty members is essential, as is increasing our financial aid budget to ensure that talented children can attend Sheridan regardless of financial constraints.

To continue making forward strides, Sheridan must grow its endowment by $2 million for faculty compensation, professional development, and student financial aid.
